Notion AI isn’t just another writing tool. It’s a creativity jumpstart that takes you from blank page to published in record time.

Whether you’re drafting a report, writing an article, or planning social media content, eliminate all the friction of content development by having Notion AI:

  1. Brainstorm ideas & topics based on your goals or audience

  2. Shape broad concepts (e.g., ‘productivity tips’ article) into comprehensive, structured outlines

  3. Write polished drafts that practically publish themselves

Example Use Cases

  • Craft a business report that wows your team

  • Develop social media content that captures attention

  • Build your personal brand through thought leadership articles

The Steps

Step 1: Open an existing page or create a fresh one by clicking the ‘+’ button in the left-hand sidebar

Step 2: Click in an empty space on the page & hit your spacebar to bring up the AI assistant

Step 3: Under the ‘Think, ask, chat’ section, select 'Brainstorm ideas’ & type in a prompt explaining what you’re looking for, etc.:

  • ‘Online course topics on building a personal brand on LinkedIn’

  • ‘Weekly content themes for a fitness-focused Instagram account’

Step 4: Not happy with the first batch of ideas? Refine the results to better fit your goals or audience by prompting the AI assistant with follow-up requests like:

  • “Make these more targeted to small business owners”

  • “Add a short description of what each post would cover”

  • “Focus on evergreen topics”

Step 5: Highlight the blog idea you want to run with, select ‘Ask AI,’ & type in the prompt: “Expand on this by writing a full blog outline with headings and bullet points”

Step 6: Expand on the generated outline by either:

  • Manually filling in details (e.g., your own insights, examples, & more)

  • Prompting ‘Ask AI’ to expand on the outline

Step 9: Once your outline is solid, highlight the whole thing, & prompt ‘Ask AI’ to “Turn this into a full blog post that’s written in an informative but friendly tone and includes subheadings”

Optional Step: Want to add a little more polish? Prompt ‘Ask AI’ to:

  • Add a call to action

  • Change the tone (e.g., more professional or casual)

  • Simplify or expand sections

  • Rewrite the introduction to be more engaging

Keep all of these new brainstorm ideas, outlines, and full drafts organized and easily retrievable later. For example, if you’re generating content for your blog:

Step 1: Create a main page for all blog content & name it something like ‘Blog Content’

Step 2: Add separate sub-pages for content ideas, outlines, & final drafts by clicking the ‘+’ button (while inside your main page) > selecting ‘Page’ from the dropdown > respectively naming each sub-page (e.g., ‘Content Ideas’ & ‘Outlines’)

Step 3: Drag & drop blocks of content into the appropriate sub-pages (e.g., moving outlines into the ‘Outlines’ sub-page)

Bonus Step: Create a ‘Content Pipeline’ sub-page to track the progress of your content from idea to publication
