Getting Set Up With NotebookLM

If you’re using Google Drive and/or have PDFs you want to chat with, Google’s latest release, NotebookLM is a game changer.

How it works: select multiple files from Drive or uploaded PDFs and the tool becomes an expert that you can collaborate with. Connecting to NotebookLM is easier than turning on your out-of-office before signing off for the holidays.

Step 1: Create your first notebook by clicking on ‘New Notebook’ and entering a project title.

Step 2: On the left side of the page, click ‘Add Source’ to upload copied text, a PDF, or select content from Google Drive. You can select up to 20 sources per notebook.

Step 3: Type your questions into the chat bar at the bottom of the page. You might ask NotebookLM to:

• Explain content

• Point out main themes

• Help you brainstorm

• Identify relevant statistics

• and so much more

Step 4: Click on your uploaded source to see a summary and key topics.

Step 5: You can share notebooks with any number of people in the same domain as your account (ie. @yourcompany.com)
